Here's how it works: Washing and care instructions

To make sure your favorite shoes come out of the washing machine looking like new so that you can have many more adventures with them, it's important to wash them properly – because washing isn't just washing!

Step 1 - Remove loose elements: Firstly, remove loose elements such as insoles and laces so that dirt deposits underneath can be reached. Shoelaces are also machine washable, but should be placed in a separate laundry bag. Insoles are not suitable for cleaning in the washing machine!

Step 2 - Remove coarse dirt: Before putting the shoes into the washing machine, remove coarse dirt by hand. In particular, remove dirt and stones from the soles to protect the washer drum from scratches.

Step 3 - Put shoes into laundry bag: For washing, put the shoes into a laundry bag (or alternatively in an old pillowcase) to protect the washer drum.

Important note - Wash only one pair of shoes per wash cycle and with no other fabrics: Do not wash other products in the same wash cycle to prevent discoloration and damage to textiles. If several pairs of shoes are to be washed, do not wash them together in one wash cycle to prevent discoloration.

Step 4 - Select gentle program and low temperature: Select a gentle program with cold wash or low temperature of maximum 30 °C, suitable programs are the ones for easy-care or delicates.

Step 5 - Use little liquid detergent: Use only a little detergent, we recommend to use liquid mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener, as it makes the materials brittle and porous!

Step 6 - Air dry shoes at moderate temperatures: After washing, let the shoes air-dry for at least 12 hours. Do not put them in the dryer! Do not expose the shoes to direct heat when air-drying (do not blow-dry with hot air or place on heater, do not expose to direct sunlight). The heat can loosen adhesions and damage materials.

Tip - Stretching/stuffing shoes:

At the beginning of the drying process, stretch the shoes with a shoe tree or alternatively stuff them with newspaper to maintain the fit. If newspaper is used, replace the wet with dry regularly.

Important note - Do not wash shoes too often:

Even if the shoes are machine washable, they should not be washed too often. With increased washing, the material suffers and the functionality of the materials gets lost.
